A very popular Twitter handle, @Thinkwert, posted a photograph appearing to show a giant human walking in a crowd. Published on 23rd July 2023, Thinkwert claimed, quote, “At their peak, there were 35,000 giants in the UK. Now there are less than 85.” End of quote. The tweet has already garnered over 3.8 million views.
The claim is FALSE; here are the facts:
Accordingly to the international fact checker, Snopes, the photograph was generated using artificial intelligence, AI. Also, a Reddit forum in April 2023 highlighted the same picture as a sample of AI generated photo.
Snopes quotes Professor Brian Doak of Biblical studies at George Fox University as saying that: “Apart from a few isolated and unusually-tall-but-certainly-not-supernatural skeletons recovered in excavations, archaeologists have not yet uncovered a race of giant bodies littering the land of Canaan.”
