News making rounds claims that a transgender won the Miss Netherlands beauty pageant.

Miss Netherlands beauty pageant 2023 was held on Sunday July 9 and Rikkie Valerie Kollé was announced the winner.

Rikkie though originally a man, identifies as a female and had done surgery to appear as a female.

Rikkie was the winner after about three hours of contest with other female beauties.

Rikkie, though first transgender beauty winner in Netherlands is however not the first in the world.

The ceremony was also attended by the reigning Miss Universe, the American R’Bonney Gabriel.

Rikkie Valerie Kollé, 22, will represent the Netherlandsiu at the 72nd annual Miss Universe pageant in El Salvador later this year.
