Did Ogun State governor, Dapo Abiodun attract $1billion investments?

In the build up to the 2023 elections, the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) said the administration of Governor Dapo Abiodun had in the last three years attracted more than 36 investment portfolios worth over $1 billion to the state.

The claim is FALSE, here are the facts

Also in a report by the National Bureau of Statistics ‘Nigeria’s Capital Importation’ for the first, second, third, and fourth quarters of 2022, Ogun State alongside twenty six others were shunned by foreign investors in 2022 as foreign investments fell by 20.47 per cent ($1.37bn) from $6.7bn in 2021 to $5.33bn in 2022.
