Barely one month after inauguration, news broke out that President Bola Tinubu travelled out of Nigeria on his first official trip.
The claim is TRUE
Several news reported that President Tinubu flew out of the country to France on his first official trip.
It was reported that the trip was for a two-day New Global Financial Pact summit.
During the event held June 22 and 23, the President joined world leaders to review and sign a New Global Financial Pact that places vulnerable countries on a priority list for support and investment, following the devastating impact of climate change, the energy crisis, and the COVID-19 pandemic.
A statement by the President’s Special Adviser, Special Duties, Communication, and Strategy, Dele Alake confirmed the trip.
Though several pictures and videos available on social media confirmed this, we checked the official Twitter handle of the President and found three different tweet threads where the President talked about his trip to France.
