A viral video being shared across social media claims customs officers opened the Idiroko border in Ogun State on Tinubu’s Order.
Findings
A message was sent to the Ogun Customs Public Relations Officer enquiring on the video and in his response, he said;
“This is an old video in circulation. Idiroko border has been re-opened seen last year in April, alongside 3 other borders in Nigeria, as directed by the immediate past administration.”
Also the customs area controller for Ogun 1 Area command, Bamidele Makinde has debunked the claim while briefing newsmen on activities of the command for April and May.
He said the border has always been opened alongside three others since 2022 on Buhari’s order.
DECISION
The claim according to the viral video that Tinubu ordered border opening is false.
