A viral video shared across social media shows video of uniformed men stoning and pounding people to death. It was shared with the claim that the Sundanese were killing non Citizens.
The claim is FALSE, here’s how we know.
Subjecting the video to a search brought back no related result as it is almost not available online.
A deep search into other elements in the scene of the video such as the water bottle and the logo on the military uniform led to Ethiopia.
The water bottle has ‘one’ written on it, produced by Mogle Bottled Water Manufacturing in Sebeta, South west of Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. The logo on the uniform was also traced to the Gambala region bordering Ethiopia.
Ethiopian human rights commission has also confirmed that the violence took place between June 14-16, 2022.
They explained that this incident by a liberation movement caused the death of at least 50 civilians in the region.
The viral video is not from Sudan going by verifiable elements in the video.
