A message forwarded several times on WhatsApp claims that the Lagos governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu has canceled all Eze Ndigbo Titles in Lagos.

The claim is false, here’s why

The claim came following the arrest of Chief Frederick Nwajagu, the Eze Ndigbo of Ajao Estate, for allegedly threatening to invite members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB ) to Lagos.

Shortly after the arrest, rumours began to spread about the Lagos State government canceling all Eze Ndigbo Titles in the state.

No mainstream media reported the news about cancelation of titles, it was also not posted on all official social media pages of the State government.

The state Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, has also debunked the news saying “It seems like April fool. Let’s ignore it now.”

Conclusion:

The claim that Eze Ndigbo Titles were canceled in Lagos is FALSE
