A video forwarded several time on social media claims China is producing plastic eggs for consumption.
The claim is FALSE
The one minute 40 seconds video shows some people making what could be likened to be an egg.
On the top right corner of the video is a man doing the narration. The man who spoke using a Nigerian Local dialect claims that the consumption of such eggs had been responsible for cancer, kidney problem and liver failure.
A check shows the video of people making ‘eggs’ have been in circulation since 2017.
Findings showed that it was the production of toys which are not meant for consumption.
The company attached to this video is into the production of slime toys and it’s even linked with Korea and not China.
Further findings showed that the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) had during the pandemic had said that there is no technology or chemicals available to complete the manufacturing of whole eggs.
They added that it is not an economically viable process since normal eggs are available in abundance & at an affordable price.
