The circulating message claims, ‘Davido is giving out ₦5,000 Airtime and 10GB free data to his fans in celebration of his new-born twins.’ It further added that the beneficiaries should choose their network, either MTN, AIRTEL, GLO, or 9-MOBILE, and visit the link accompanied with the post (https://myfreebyt.org/mcel.html) to win. A visit to the website showed that applicants are expected to add their phone number and other details, while at the end, they will be told to share the link to five group chats. Cyber experts have warned that links as such are phishing and could be used to extract details of unsuspecting publics for fraudulent purposes. WABMA team checked.
