Following the increase in FOREX, there’s a claim that it is cheaper to fly from other places, such as Cotonou, to London than from Lagos. One of the claims showed that despite having longer distances, traveling from Benin Republic and South Africa to London is cheaper than going from Lagos.
The claim is TRUE
An image obtained by WABMA showed a flight booked July 21 from Lagos to London charged 2,462 US Dollars while from Cotonou to London the cost was 472 US Dollars. In one of the checks done by the Foundation for Investigative Journalism, an Ethiopian Airline ticket booked from Lagos to London was 1,555,601 Naira for economy class. The same flight booked from Cotonou to London was charged at CFA 769,900, which is the equivalent of 1,033,593.60 Naira.
CONCLUSION
The claim that Cotonou to London flight tickets are cheaper than Lagos to London is TRUE.
