This is FALSE, here’s what we know.
Punch, PM News, Vanguard carried it, Daily Trust and Thisday reported Mohammed Umar as DOP
Findings showed that Umar was DOP under Ibrahim Magu’s leadership as acting chairman. He acted as chairman when Magu was removed in 2020 till Bawa was appointed.
Umar was redeployed to the police in Kano where he now serves as the DCP SCID.
Checking through the agency’s website, in a release on the 30th of May, 2023, CE Abdulkarim Chukkol, was reported as the DOP.
There has been no news of a replacement since then.
Bawa was told to hand over to the Director of Operations, therefore, if anyone is to takeover as acting chairman of EFCC, it will be Chukkol as DOP.
