A list shared across several platforms shows that the West African Examination Council, WAEC, charges ₦70,000 for date of birth amendment.

The viral list of 14 items also included attestation, correction of name, gender amongst others.
In a tweet by WAEC, the exam body in Nigeria has dissociated itself from the circulating list. Describing it as fake, it said WAEC does not accept requests on date of birth amendment.
“Please note that this document did not emanate from WAEC-Nigeria. The Council still does not entertain requests for date of birth amendment,” the tweet read.
