Were Ndigbos chased out of hall by Police for holding election in US?

A video found on Twitter and shared across other social media claims that Igbos were chased out of a hall by Police in the United States while holding Eze Ndigbo election.

The claim is FALSE

A check on the video showed that the event was held at Dallas/ Forth worth, Texas on July 5, 2023.

 

According to voices from the video, the hotel management had served guests food before the appearance of the police.

 

Further findings showed that the gathering was the 14th annual convention of Mbaise USA.

 

Mbaise is an extraction of the Igbo ethnic group whose origin is in Imo State.

 

Digging further, it was discovered that Police clamped down on the venue for overcrowding.

 

According to one of the participants, the organizers planned for 300 which was the capacity of the hall but attendance was more.

 

No election was being held but it was a convention and not an Ndigbo affair.

 

CONCLUSION

The claim that Ndigbos were chased out of hall by Police in the US during election is FALSE.
