News outlets reported that the Nigerian Army has claimed responsibility for the recent bombing of some villages in Kaduna.
The claim is TRUE
An air strike on Sunday, 3rd December 2023 accidentally hit civilians during a religious celebration at Tudun Biri, Kaduna.
The casualties are still being accounted for as the occurrence has generated lots of conversations with many blaming the Army for the losses.
The force in a tweet thread had explained the cause and involvement of the army in the incident.
The Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja during a condolence visit said that the general area of Tudun Biri and adjoining villages were infested with armed bandits, who terrorised the communities in times past, until troops of the Nigerian Army started conducting operations to sanitize the area and make it habitable.
He pointed out, that the troops were carrying out aeriel patrols when they observed a group of people and wrongly analyzed and misinterpreted their pattern of activities to be similar to that of the bandits, before the drone strike.

The Chief of Army Staff equally visited affected victims at the Barua Dikko Teaching Hospital Anguwan Rimi, Kaduna, where he expressed concern for the speedy recuperation of the hospitalized persons and made an immediate donation of several provisions for their upkeep.

CONCLUSION
The claim that Nigerian Army took responsibility for bombing of villages in Kaduna is TRUE.
When President Tinubu nominated Professor Joash Amupitan as chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, social media erupted. “He was Tinubu’s lawyer during the 2023 election case!” users claimed, warning that democracy was in danger. But is the outrage based on fact?
Verification: WABMA reviewed the Certified True Copies of both the Presidential Election Tribunal and Supreme Court judgments from the 2023 election petitions.
Amupitan’s name does not appear among the lawyers listed for Tinubu, Shettima, or the APC. Instead, the records show Professor Taiwo Osipitan (SAN) — a University of Lagos law professor — as one of the legal counsels.
The similarity between the surnames Osipitan and Amupitan seems to have caused the mix-up. No court record, statement, or credible media report links Amupitan to Tinubu’s legal team.
