Does Dangote cement sell for N1500 in Cotonou?

A message forwarded several times on whatsapp claims that Dangote cement produced in Nigeria sells for as low as N1500 per bag in Cotonou, Bénin Republic.

                         

The claim is FALSE

 

Currently in Nigeria, Dangote cement of 50kg bag is sold at about 5200 naira in Nigeria.

 

The claim says the same quantity is sold in Seme and Benin Republic at 1500 naira.

 

According to Daily Trust, checks in Cotonou, the commercial capital of the Republic of Benin indicate that cement sells for CFA 3,495 and CFA 4,500, which at the current exchange rate of CFA 1: NGN 1.43 is between N4,997 and N 6,435 per bag.

 

CONCLUSION

Is website link for Oyo State palliative funds real?

A notice being shared across social media claims that the Oyo State government is calling on citizens to apply for #25,000 palliative fund via a website link

 

The claim is false

 

According to the circulating message, interested benefitiaries were to visit the link https://slnkz.com/Oyo-palliative-ng to confirm eligibility.

 

Though the state governor Seyi Makinde recently announced that the state government will pay Oyo Workers 25,000 and Pensioners N15,000 for Six Months, He however made no mention of a website link.

 

The pseudo website redirected to one reno-coin website which didn’t load as at the time of check.

 

A government official explained that workers and pensioners will get the fund credited to the account numbers registered with the state government.

 

If at all there will be need for a website, it would be the Oyo State government website – oyostate.gov.ng

 

CONCLUSION

The web link for checking eligibility for the Oyo State palliative fund is FALSE.

The claim is FALSE

 

The post by Raggaemarley Chelsea has gathered 75k likes, 3k comments and 70 shares as at the time of check.

 

Rema, Afrobeats superstar, delivered a thrilling performance at the 2023 Ballon d’Or award

 

He gave an electrifying performance at the ceremony which took place in Paris, France captivating the audience with his incredible talent and stage presence.

 

However, he is not a Ghanian.

 

Rema’s real name is Divine Ikubor. He is Leading the Next Generation of Nigerian Pop.

 

He was born 1 May 2000 Benin City, Edo, Nigeria to Nigerian parents.
