There are lots of links being shared on social media claiming the payment of 8,000 Naira monthly allowance for indigent Nigerians have commenced.
The claim is FALSE.
President Tinubu had announced that 12 million Nigerians would receive 8,000 Naira monthly for six months as part of move to alleviate poverty. There is however no official link declared by the Presidency.
We checked one of the links in circulation and discovered it is a phishing link designed to extract details of unsuspecting members of the public. Further findings showed that whoever fills the form online will be required to continue sharing the links with no effect on the application process.
The President had recently ordered a review of the payment and it’s application process.
The payment proposal is still awaiting approval at the house of representatives.
CONCLUSION
The claim that payment of 8,000 Naira palliative has begun is FALSE.
