Is Police accepting payment for recruit screening?

A viral message on social media attributed to the Police Service Commission (PSC) claims police recruits are to come with ₦2000 for screening.

The claim is FALSE

The fraudulent message, circulating on social media, uses the Commission’s name and states: “Congratulations…come along with 2k when coming” for the January 8th screening.

The Police Service Commission (PSC) has issued a public warning, urging Nigerians to disregard a social media message claiming that candidates for the ongoing police constable recruitment must pay N2000 for screening.

 

The Head of Press and Public Relations, Ikechukwu Ani, describing the message as fake and misleading said “The Commission disowns and disassociates itself from this fictitious and misleading publication,” Ani stated.

 

The PSC reiterated that the entire recruitment process, from registration to medical exams, is completely free. No fees are required at any stage, and the Commission vows to hold responsible any individuals attempting to exploit candidates.

CONCLUSION

The claim that Police recruits are to pay for screening is FALSE.

Has MTN barred GLO from calling its users?

Unverified information being spread says MTN has barred GLO lines from calling its users

The claim is FALSE.
There’s been back and forth lately between MTN and GLO over an alleged debt GLO owes MTN.

Sequel to this, MTN has written the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) requesting to bar GLO lines over the debt.

NCC had published a pre-disconnection notice but resend to a ten day, then 21 days. The disconnection is presently on hold for 21 days starting January 17.

GLO has also officially denied the allegations of an interconnect debt.

However, official information at the moment have it that all disconnection attempts are on hold.

CONCLUSION
The claim that MTN has disconnected GLO lines from calling MTN users is FALSE.
